Description

This suspension improvement is specifically designed for Harley models. The simple and enduring design of 412 makes it a cost-effective upgrade for motorcycle suspension performance. A five-position lever-style preload adjuster allows you to easily customize your ride. Some or all of the specified dampers are approved for road use. Check the latest certificate for an up-to-date listing. All dampers are measured from eye-to-eye center. When installing dampers on 1986-2015 XL models, it may be necessary to modify or space the chain/belt guard to allow adequate clearance. A slightly longer damper than the series can slightly alter the fork release angle and provide slightly faster handling. A slightly shorter damper than the series can slightly alter the fork release angle and provide slightly slower handling. HD applications are recommended for bikes that are used at or near the manufacturer's maximum load capacity more than 50% of the time. Before buying or attempting to install dampers with different OEM lengths, make sure that the total travel of the suspension can be altered without causing separation problems, such as swingarm/axle for exhaust contact as well as clearance.
